The genuinely amazing Analogue Pocket is getting some new limited edition color variants, with pre-orders starting tomorrow.
There will be eight different colors available; Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink, Orange, Indigo and Silver.
Pre-orders start tomorrow via Analogue’s website and each version will be priced at $249.99 and released on November 20.
Considering the high demand for the original Analogue Pocket, I am fully expecting these limited edition variants to sell out very quickly.
I reviewed the original Analogue Pocket back in 2021 and it is an astonishing piece of kit.
Firstly, it doesn’t emulate the games it plays. Instead, it has a recreated version of the original hardware’s chipset via field programmable gate arrays (or FPGAs).
Secondly, it can play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games out of the box, with Game Gear Neo Geo Pocket and Atari Lynx handled via adapters.
So having more of these glorious handhelds available again is definitely a good thing.
