Overwatch 2 Will Let You Unlock Heroes With Credits For The First Time

News RoomNews RoomOctober 4, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

We’ve been hearing from Blizzard for a while that Overwatch 2 players will have more things to spend Credits (a free, earnable in-game currency) on soon. When Overwatch 2: Rise Of Darkness (Season 7) goes live, you’ll have the chance to unlock several heroes using Credits if you don’t already have them in your roster.

This is the first time that you’ll be able to use Credits to unlock heroes. If you don’t have access to them already, you’ll be able to buy Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Ramattra and Lifeweaver with the free currency. You’ll need to act quickly though, as this offer will only be on the table for one week, starting on October 10.

Many Overwatch 2 players will have these heroes in their roster already. But this is a good opportunity for lapsed Overwatch 1 players to join the action and get instant free access to every hero (except for the latest one, Illari), if they have a ton of old Credits in the bank.

If you don’t have many Credits in your account, don’t worry too much.

There was a nasty bug that prevented players from earning Credits when they completed Overwatch 2 Anniversary event challenges. To make up for that, Blizzard is giving everyone who logs into the game between October 10 and October 16 3,000 Credits. That should be enough to unlock a few of those heroes. Alternatively, you can spend the Credits on cosmetics in the Event Shop or Hero Gallery.
