‘League Of Legends’ 13.21 Patch Notes Bring The Return Of Nexus Blitz

News RoomNews RoomOctober 24, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

Riot Games has released the patch notes for League of Legends update 13.21 and the big news is that Nexus Blitz is finally back, giving us a fun new game mode to play while we wait for pre-season to hit!

For the first time since patch 11.11 Nexus Blitz is back, and fortunately, it comes with a lot of improvements to make sure it fits better with the current state of League of Legends. All previous balance tweaks from Nexus Blitz have been thrown out of the window and a new set of numbers have been added, although Riot promises they will keep updating this to nerf any champs who prove too powerful.

Other Nexus Blitz changes include the addition of jungle pets, some tweaks to event spawns that should remove some of the RNG factor and some champion-specific tweaks to Ivern, Bel’Veth and Akshan to make them viable in the mode.

Nexus Blitz is expected to stick around for a while, with the dev team previously announcing that it would be here to tide us over until the fantastic Arena game mode makes it’s return after its debut earlier this year.

Back on the Summoner’s Rift side of things the big changes this week seem to be in response to the massive jungle changes that were part of the last patch. While some of the changes seem to have worked in making junglers less powerful, they generally have made the actual art of jungling a little more dangerous. Now some buffs across the board to how junglers can sustain in the early game mean they can stay at a decent health level while securing their early farm.

Specific champions have also seen some changes, with one notable example being the new champion Briar. She was one of the winners of the patch but is now being toned down in the later stages to make her less of a threat. Her attack speed growth and W damage are being decreased, but a buff to her passive healing should make her able to stick in the jungle a little longer, rather than become a top laner as some had been running her.

There’s also a singular item change, but it’s a welcome one. Hullbreaker has been a go-to for many champions recently so now it is getting a nerf to its stats to hopefully make it slightly less impactful.

I could go on through more patch notes, but Nexus Blitz is back so rather than do that I’m going to go play the new mode instead! You can see all of the changes for patch 13.21 in the official patch notes.
