Here Is The ‘Starfield’ Release Time In Your Region For Early Access

News RoomNews RoomAugust 29, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

The launch of Starfield is imminent. Technically, it comes out Thursday in many regions, including here in the US, despite its official September 1 Early Access release date. As such, if you want to play Starfield that night/morning, which I am sure loads of people do, you’ll want to know the release time for your region.

Above is part of the global release time schedule for my mainly US audience, but you can see the full one below, and a larger version here. So, here are the times:

  • Los Angeles – August 31 – 5 PM
  • Ciudad de Mexico – August 31 – 6 PM
  • Chicago – August 31 – 7 PM
  • New York – August 31 – 8 PM
  • Sao Paulo – August 31 – 9 PM
  • London – September 1 – 1 AM
  • Paris – September 1 – 2 AM
  • Berlin – September 1 – 2 AM
  • Saudi Arabia – September 1 – 3 AM
  • India – September 1 – 5:30 AM
  • Eastern China – September 1 – 8 AM
  • Japan – September 1 – 9 AM
  • Sydney – September 1 – 10 AM
  • Auckland – September 1 – 12 PM

So, not exactly an EU-focused launch here, but the US will have some hours to play before bed, and Australia/Japan/China etc will be able to start their day with it.

All of these times are the same for September 5/6 as well, though I’ll probably post another reminder before that launch as well.

These times are just eight hours after the review embargo drops. Normally that would be kind of weird, but Bethesda is always pretty weird about embargo times, so this is par for the course for them. And most everyone who is excited enough to want to play Early Access has probably already bought it. I’m still editing my (extremely long) review and have finalized my score. I think. You can preload Starfield tomorrow, August 30 on Steam and I believe you can already pre-load it on Xbox now.

Both Bethesda and Microsoft executives have expressed just how long the game is, with Pete Hines saying he’s put 160 hours in so far, and Phil Spencer saying he’s at 200 hours, though they’ve been playing various in-development versions for almost a year now. The five days of early access for $30-35 is a pretty common practice now, at least bundled with some future content, in this case the “Shattered Space” expansion coming in the future.

One way or another, it’s going to be a really interesting week. I’ll be a part of the conversation starting on Thursday, and likely a while past that. See you then.
