If you’ve never played Destiny 2 or simply haven’t kept up with the game’s many expansions, you should swing over to the Epic Game Store and snag the game for the very reasonable price of “completely free” today.
The Destiny 2: Legacy Collection is the first free offering from Epic Games for its holiday giveaway extravaganza. The Fortnite and Unreal Engine 5 creator will be giving away a total of 17 games between now and January 9th to celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year.
Our resident Destiny expert Paul Tassi recommends picking this one up, noting that for $60 it’s a tough sell but for free it’s a no-brainer. The Legacy Collection includes the expansions Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and the Witch Queen, which Tassi calls “one of the series’ best ever”.
While we have dates for the rest of the games being given away—the next is this Tuesday but won’t be available for nearly as long as Destiny 2 has been—we don’t have titles just yet. The release dates are courtesy of industry leaker billbil-kun who has a proven track record in getting lots of things right, including monthly PS Plus releases.
17 is more than Epic has given away in the past. Indeed, with 17 free games collected over the next couple weeks, you could be all set for the rest of the year, especially if grab up all the regular free games Epic releases every week.
What games do you think Epic will give away this holiday season? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook.
