Well, Diablo 4 spat out another patch right away, going from the huge 1.1.1 patch to the lesser 1.1.2 patch, but it’s still significant in a few ways if you read through the patch notes.
The vast majority of the patch is bug fixes, and you can read through them all here if you want. One major fix is that infinite Iron Skin Elixers are no more. One thing that bothered me was my horse glitching out and being unable to sprint after leaving town sometimes. That’s fixed. Also you can now replace Wrathful Hearts with another Wrathful Heart without at “you’re equipping too many Wrathful Hearts” message.
In terms of actual gameplay and buffs, there are two main ones here:
“The wait time for a Malignant Monster to spawn after activating a Malignant Heart in the world has been reduced from 5 to 2 seconds” – This fixes the awkward wait time between clicking on a heart and causing a Malignant miniboss to spawn. I am still not sure why we kill them twice at all, as it’s a very weird mechanic. I also think they should have a map icon when there are Hearts to click on, as it’s very easy to miss them (probably moreso when you’re colorblind like me.
The Caged Heart of Tal’Rasha and Caged Heart of the Great Feast now match their tooltip and are correctly calculated as multiplicative instead of additive.” – For reference, here’s what each of these do:
- Caged Heart of Tal’Rasha (Sorcerer Vicious Heart) – “For each unique element you deal damage with, you deal 7-12% increased damage for 2-8 seconds” – This essentially did nothing when it was additive, but now that it’s multiplicative, it should be worth using for many builds.
- Caged Heart of the Great Feast (Necromancer Wrathful Heart) – “Each Minion drains 1-2 Essence per second, but deals 75-100% increased damage. With no Minions, this bonus applies to you and drains 5 Essence per second” – So that got a lot better, but it’s very hard to switch out from the Barber unless you’re running a minion specific build I guess. Even then, I’m not so sure.
I’m not sure if any other hearts are bugged right now, but at least these two are fixed and now much better. I did not see anything in these patch notes about fixing the exploit for duped gold and items, or that trading has been re-enabled as a result. As I said before, avoid doing it, as you will probably catch a ban. But yeah, good patch regardless.
