Fortnite’s attempt to at least temporarily recapture its 2018 glory days has arrived with a time warp back to Chapter 1 of the game, complete with a version of its oldest map, OG weapons and vehicles, but with some modern elements continuing to exist like sprinting, mantling and reboot vans.
But you will be greeted with a new battle pass when you log in, one that does not offer the exact OG skins from Chapter 1, but new variants that are remixes on some of the most classic skins in the game, or combinations of old and new skins over the years. It’s actually pretty cool and for once, at least temporarily devoid of IP crossovers (though we know a Stranger Things collab is coming to the regular shop some time soon).
Here are all the new, classic, remixed, combined skins in the Fortnite Chapter 1 battle pass, which only has seven pages and four skins. At least for now.
Spectra Knight – A heavily customizable skin based on the classic knights of old along with some more…recent icons. You can remix it into a number of colors and armor pieces as seen below.
Lil Split – A sprinkled variant of longtime Fortnite veteran Peely combined with Lil Whip. Also has multiple variants
Renegade Lynx – A combination of Renegade Raider, a true OG skin, and Lynx, who showed up much later. There’s also a masked “Dark Storm” variant and “Magmatic” variant.
Omegarok – A combo of Omega and Rangarok, which you might have been able to guess. He can get Harbinger Armor which gives him back his classic horned skull mask, but with an Omega-based modern twist.
Raven Team Leader – This is not a battle pass skin, it’s actually in the shop, but it follows the tradition of combining classic skins like the one above. But it’ll cost you more than the battle pass itself if you buy it.
Of them all, Spectra Knight is the one you’re meant to build out and customize as your own, as we’ve seen with many base level skins over the years. It does not seem like Fortnite plans on bringing back all the true OG skins, as you have to either have been there at launch, or caught them when they rotated back around in the shop, if they actually did come around. Some will be here though, it seems, like Red Knight is in the shop right now.
So, it is worth it? That’s an individual decision, but I do like the combo idea they came up with here without it being straight up all OG skins.
