Savant and USAID Southern Africa Mobilizing Investment Investment Readiness Programme is now accepting applications from hardware engineers and scientists innovating in the green economy sector
Savant, a leader in advancing hardware engineering in South Africa, is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024 Build programme, proudly supported by USAID Mobilizing Investment.
The investment readiness initiative is designed as a competitive opportunity for science and engineering-based businesses, operating within the Southern African Development Community (SADC). It strategically addresses the critical investment gap in hardware engineering within the green economy.
Build 2024 key offering for hardware engineers and scientists:
- Opportunities for founders to receive funding directly from Savant, or from investors within the fund’s investor partner network. Build 2024 founders meeting the fund’s investment criteria will receive up to R200,000 of capital and R350,000 worth of value-adding services, as well as introductions to investors actively deploying capital into hardware innovation across the SADC regions. This initial funding round from Savant is intended to enable founders to validate their innovations and key markets before raising their follow-on investment rounds.
- Empowering Green Hardware Innovation: Savant GreenTech Catalyst 2024 takes on the challenges faced by engineers developing hardware companies rooted in deep-tech innovation. It provides a dynamic platform for sustainable growth, offering strategic advisory support, investment avenues with Savant, and dismantling growth barriers through tailor-made, outcome-focused masterclasses.
- Exclusive Mentorship Network: Selected startups gain privileged access to an exclusive mentorship network, comprising seasoned mentors, investment experts, and Savant’s portfolio of pioneering founders in the hardware industry. This network delivers invaluable guidance and establishes strategic connections essential for navigating the intricacies of hardware innovation and commercialisation.
