The CapTech conference returns to Sydney to help Australian startups go global

News RoomNews RoomAugust 7, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read
The annual CapTech2023 conference will return to Sydney in October, bringing together innovators, investors, and industry leaders together over four days.

Raman Bhalla, President of Sydney Investors, Professionals and Business Networking Group Incorporated (SIPBN), and founder of CapTech, said last year’s gathering resulted in four companies successfully raising major deals with more than $180 million in MOUs signed.

“This year we are expecting over 500 attendees, with delegates from around the globe, including India, The Middle East, China and Hong Kong who are very interested in investing in Australian businesses because they see huge potential here,” he said.

“Many of the international delegates will take part in a tour of Western Sydney Airport and surrounding business hubs, to see first hand the growth that is currently underway. This will provide an opportunity to demonstrate business opportunities and business growth, which is at the heart of this event.

Keynote speakers this year include former NSW government minister Victor Dominello, now director of the Trustworthy Digital Society Hub,  University of Wollongong vice-chancellor Professor Patricia Davidson, Master Builders Australia CEO Denita Wawn, KPMG climate change and sustainability team director Alistair Coulstock, and Arab Bank Australia CEO Dr Joseph Rizk.

Founder  said the event brings together the brightest minds, industry leaders, ventures, technology and capital from Australia and globally.

Bhalla said one of the most popular events at CapTech2022, the global pitching sessions, returns this year.

“The pitching session puts businesses in a room where they can speak about their future plans and get investors excited about being involved,” he said.

Another highlight is the business matchmaking program, which sees Australian businesses matched with international ones and investors to provide local and global opportunities to scale up.

CapTech 2023 is on in Sydney, October 24-27, culminating in a global summit at ICC Sydney, on October 25. Details at sipbn.com.au/captech2023/
