A free, short course for female founders and small business owners to learn how emerging technologies such as AI and Web 3.0 can help drive productivity, growth and profitability will run in Sydney next month.
The InnovateHer program has been developed by the team at Inspiring Rare Birds, and is backed by the City of Sydney to help women stay at the forefront of digital transformation.
The two-week course will feature weekly evening workshops delivered online and in person in Sydney, then lunchtime recaps with a chance to quiz experts and network.
It will delve into emerging technologies such as AI, NFTs, Blockchain, Web 3.0, as well as cybersecurity, with industry leaders who’ll explain how they’re using them to drive new business models and optimise operations, as we as sharing what they’ve learned along the way and what’s coming next.
Ten program participants will be awarded a 6-month mentoring program with Rare Birds at the end of the course.
Rare Birds founder and CEO Jo Burston said there’s currently is a huge gender divide when it comes to emerging technologies, in part because globally 78% of people working in AI and Data Science are male.
As a consequence, the majority of data generated online is created by men.
“If these emerging technologies are going to benefit everyone, it’s vital that women become early adopters in order to shape how they are used and developed,” Burston said.
“That is why programs like InnovateHer are so important. We want to make it clear and really easy for women entrepreneurs and business owners to adopt these new technologies to grow and future-proof their businesses.”
The InnovateHer program is open to women across Australia, with the full course accessible online, alongside two special hybrid events with limited places to attend in person for women in Sydney.
Applications for the course close on October 22 with the program kicking off on October 30.
