Here’s The Exact Time ‘Warzone Mobile’ Launches And What You Need To Know

News RoomNews RoomMarch 20, 2024No Comments3 Mins Read

Call Of Duty:Warzone Mobile is almost upon us—four years after the launch of the original Warzone. The new game isn’t replacing Call Of Duty: Mobile, but it is a very different game, that aims to align more closely with Warzone and the yearly Call Of Duty multiplayer release.

This means that most weapons, items, cosmetics and leveling across the mobile, PC and console versions of the games will be cross-progression. You can buy a Battle Pass on one platform and progress it on another; unlock a gun on PC and use it in mobile and so forth.

This isn’t true across the board. There is no Zombies mode in Warzone Mobile, for instance, though there are a number of multiplayer modes and maps at launch. There will also be mobile-specific events and ways of acquiring weapons specific to mobile monetization practices. I’m curious to see how this works.

Here’s the trailer:

Warzone Mobile launches Thursday, March 21st at 8am PT / 11am ET and you’ll want to make sure to have your Activision account setup before then. The game will be available on both Android (Google Play) and the Apple App Store.

The Warzone maps at launch are both classics: Verdansk is back for Battle Royale and the smaller Mobile Royale, while Rebirth Island makes its return for Resurgence mode. There will even be Custom Games available for mobile Battle Royale, though you’ll need at least 25 players to start a match (and if you have 119 friends you can have up to 120 in your custom lobby).

The multiplayer modes and maps at launch are Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint and Kill Confirmed on Scrapyard, El Asilo, Hotel, Shipment, and Shoot House. There will also be a Shoot the Ship playlist with 24/7 Shipment and Shoot House.

All told, it sounds like a pretty feature-rich launch and for those of us who miss Verdansk and Rebirth Island a great deal—and already have a lot of time and money invested in the games on other platforms—a fun way to dive back into some classic, nostalgic maps. I’m certainly excited, even though I am the furthest thing from a mobile player. I’m also a PC player normally, so playing on a screen or even with a controller will be a challenging adjustment.

Also, don’t expect the graphics to be quite as nice as the PC / Xbox Series XS and PS5 graphics, but that matters a lot less on a phone or tablet. Read more about the game on Call Of Duty’s official blog post.
