Celebrity-interviewing/torturing show Hot Ones has routinely been injected into social media whenever a particularly funny wing-eating session goes viral. The last time this happened was with Sydney Sweeney whose eye-watering smile turned into an instant meme. But now? The spotlight is on Conan O’Brien, who just delivered probably the greatest episode in the show’s long history.
In just a day, Conan’s Hot Ones has racked up 3.8 million views, the longest in months, and destined to probably be an all-timer. It’s one of the top trending videos on social media and has resparked conversation about how Conan is one of the funniest people alive and it was insane when he lost the Tonight Show back in 2010.

The premise here was that Conan doesn’t eat spicy food at baseline, but brags about the sauces being nothing as he goes. But eventually he is humbled as they get to the hottest sauces in the lineup, and Conan is dripping sweat, rubbing sauce on his face and body, and finally chugging milk to end the segment.
Hot Ones says they have been chasing Conan for years to be on the show, but they finally got him. How? He’s promoting his new Max show (one great bit is Conan making fun of “Max” as a name, as seen above) called Conan O’Brien Must Go where he goes around the world to see different cultures and meet fans. Conan also has a podcast called “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” that started in 2018 and is still running today.
It’s an amazing video and really made my whole week. I’ve seen a lot of great Hot Ones shows over the year but there’s really no comparison to Conan here, who remains one of the funniest people in existence after all these years. I’ll certainly be watching his Max show soon enough here on April 18.
