The combination of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence, or AIoT, is clearly where the System of Systems is headed, and so it should be no surprise that Industrial AIoT solutions are beginning to flood the marketplace.
In a recent joint announcement, Bosch and Madison Technologies, an operational tech company, have announced a new solution that leverages Industrial AIoT for cameras in industrial environments.
According to the release, the partnership combines Madison Technologies’ regional operational technology expertise with Bosch’s AIoT camera solutions in order to bring the Bosch range of intelligent cameras to critical operational environments.
“This collaboration with Bosch demonstrates our commitment to offering our customers the latest advancements in Industry 4.0 technology,” said Paul Calabro, CEO, Madison Technologies.
AIoT cameras are designed to leverage AIoT tech across many applications, in this case, where dangerous, harsh or remote environments have limited the usefulness or availability of real-time data collection, asset monitoring, and process efficiency operations.
And this is far from the only example of AIoT cameras taking off recently. A new company called oToBrite recently won the Computex 2023 Best Choice Award for its AIoT Time-of-Flight 3D sensing depth camera for vision-AI applications. oToBrite said in the release that the camera could be used for autonomous driving vehicles like AMR, forklifts, and many other industrial and warehouse vehicles.
Some innovators are already looking into the future for answers. Back in February, Mouser Electronics announced a global distribution agreement with Xvisio Technology for what the release called extended-reality (XR) devices. According to the announcement, Mouser was set to offer its customers Xvisio’s integrated SeerSense AIOT camera modules for advanced applications, including AR/VR head-mounted display (HMD), drones, industrial automation, 3D face recognition, and 3D scanning.
“Xvisio Technology has been dedicated to spatial perception and human-machine interaction technology for years,” said John Lin, President and CEO, Xvisio Technology, in the release. “We are enthusiastic about partnering with Mouser Electronics to roll out our products to the industry worldwide for both fast proof of concept development and volume production.”
The buzz around AIoT has been circling the Industrial verticals since at least early 2022, and it does appear to be here for the long haul, so it seems best to begin thinking about how the marriage of AI and IoT could streamline your data collection, analytics and decision making.
