How Shark Ninja Just Solved The 1 Big Problem Facing Air Fryers

News RoomNews RoomFebruary 18, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

Shark Ninja, the Massachusetts-based manufacturer of vacuum cleaners, outdoor grills, ice cream makers and lots of other products, has a new air fryer that aims to fix one of the biggest pain points for consumers: the counter space it takes up.

The Ninja DoubleStack XL 2-Basket Fryer is on its way. Air fryers have many benefits, such as the convenience of cooking multiple different foods at once—and saving time and money into the bargain. Shark Ninja says that air fryer cooking speeds are up to 55% faster than conventional fan ovens.

And there are more benefits, like the way the air fryer can heat up quickly and has real versatility, whether you want crispy fries, seafood in crunchy batter or pleasingly moist vegetables. You can bake, roast, reheat, air broil, air fry and dehydrate, all from the same machine.

But until now, there’s been the offputting amount of space it takes up. If you wanted a twin-basket option, which lets you cook different foods at the same time, but the only way to reduce counter space was to choose a smaller, single-basket option.

That’s a shame, because machines with two baskets have extra features to enjoy, such as Ninja’s Smart Finish procedure which ensures that the chicken you’re roasting in one basket and the vegetables you’re air frying in the other finish at the same time, making serving dinner easier.

The new Ninja DoubleStack will fix this, promising a footprint up to 40% smaller than some regular air fryers so that counter space is reduced.

Each of the two baskets operates independently, but to add to the flexibility users can insert trays so each drawer cooks four different foods.

Shark Ninja says the DoubleStack is an industry first and has enough capacity to cook two five-pound chickens at once.

The new air fryer was announced earlier in February in the company’s first European product forum, alongside more than a dozen other productst. These included the Shark FlexBreeze ($199), an indoor and outdoor cooling system, an outdoor cooler called the Ninja FrostVault (from $199.99) which keeps food cool and retains ice for up to six days.

There’s no date for the release of the Ninja DoubleStack XL 2-Basket Fryer, but the price has been announced: $299.99.
