According to a new report, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, due this fall, could have the longest battery life ever in an iPhone. Since battery life is a consistently important feature for every user, this would be outstanding news.
The news comes from the South Korean online platform Naver, where a user calling themselves yeux1122 recently reported that the changes coming for this year’s iPhones would include a bigger screen size on the iPhone 16 Pro and would have a similar or larger battery than the iPhone 15 Pro.
Now, in a new post on a similar topic, the commenter has said aht there will be improved power consumption in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
And the bigger of the two phones will have a bigger battery which will lead to it having the longest-ever battery on an iPhone.
It’s not entirely a surprise that the largest iPhones have been claiming best-ever battery life, with the current champion being the iPhone 15 Plus. It’s a bit longer-lasting than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, perhaps because the Max has an always-on display with a higher refresh rate.
This year, though, it looks like the iPhone 16 Pro Max will take the crown with reports saying that the battery size may grow by 5%. Combine this with extra efficiencies and the actual increase in battery life may be more than that.
The reports from yeux1122 add other details, such as a display which, on the iPhone 16 Pro, will grow from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, though this will not make for a big size increase for the phone itself.
It also says that the bezels on the 16 Pro will be bigger than on the Samsung Galaxy S24, which may not delight Apple fans.
Other rumored updates include improved manufacturing methods for the Pro iPhones’ titanium frame, which will reduce the cost. The memory on board seems likely to stay at 8GB, which is noticeably less than some rival phones. This seems to be of somewhat academic interest as Apple seems unlikely to release an under-powered handset.
