Brazilian professionals are having to use their own means to keep up with advances in artificial intelligence at work, according to a LinkedIn study released today.
According to the report, conducted by Censuswide with more than 1,500 Brazilians in August , the majority of Brazilian professionals (74%) believe that AI will change the way they work in the next 12 months. However, the process to keep up with these changes has not been that simple.
Learning more about AI is a desire expressed by the majority of respondents (62%), who also said they don’t know how to do it. Worryingly, more than a third (38%) of respondents said their employers are not training them to use the tools.
The study also noted that this disorientation regarding the uptake of AI tools has taken its toll on the workforce. The demands around using artificial intelligence at work make 25% of respondents feel overwhelmed, while a third stated they are worried about not being able to keep up with AI developments at work.
On the other hand, almost half (48%) of the Brazilians polled said they have already started experimenting with AI tools such as ChatGPT in their tasks, and 85% are confident about integrating AI into their workflow.
According to the study, more than half (52%) of the Brazilian professionals polled stated they see potential to use AI to help them be more productive, while 58% said AI might help them move their careers forward.
When it comes to productivity, 76% of the respondents said they plan on using AI to perform repetitive or operational work tasks. Using AI to avoid embarrassment was also cited by 67% as they will use the technology to ask questions they wouldn’t be comfortable to ask colleagues, while 65% are planning to use it for career advice.
